In schools I use my artwork as a stimulus for pupils to express their own ideas and creativity.
I make models lit like film sets, structures, photographs, pinhole photographs and drawings of childhood dens, rooms, special places and dreams.
My artistic practice formed the starting point for a two year residency at Brinsworth Comprehensive School linked to Room 13 and funded by Creative Partnerships.
Ideas are valued, and pupils are encouraged to bring in experiences and knowledge from a variety of curriculum areas to assist in resolving difficulties.
Materials used are generally low cost or recycled and techniques and skills are often simple and low technology leading to sustainability and allowing the focal point of the work to be creativity.
